The Star Diamond Standard
by Joe Cinque

The Star Diamond Award represents the ultimate in prestige and international accolade. And, for me, there is nothing more rewarding than traveling to the superior properties to present this distinguished award upon the deserving staff. This past year, I have had the opportunity to visit many of the most wonderful, international establishments.

On May 10, 2010, Hilton Beijing Wangfujing in China was awarded the prestigious International Five Star Diamond Award. Recognized for setting the benchmark of service and operational excellence among hotels in China, General Manager Nils-Arne Schroeder accepted the award, and said, “We are honored to have been bestowed the most coveted award for the second year.”

Awarding Five Star Diamond recognition to Silversea Cruises was a true privilege and an experience that will be cherished forever. Silversea’s magnificent and intimate all-suite vessels offer itineraries on every continent, so travelers around the world can experience the ships’ casual elegance.

Trump National Golf Club in Westchester, New York, accepted its first-ever Six Star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. This honor makes them the fifth golf club in the world to receive such a prestigious recognition.

American Academy of Hospitality Sciences International Trustee Vittorio Gai awarded Five Star Diamond honors to Villa Principe Leopoldo Hotel & Spa for its exceptional luxury, hospitality, service, and 20 years of professionalism. Villa Principe Leopoldo, located a little more than a mile from the city of Lugano, is one of the most refined luxury hotel establishments in Switzerland.

I encourage you to visit these wonderful establishments during your upcoming travels. For a complete list of Star Diamond recipients, visit our website at www.StarDiamondAward.com.

Best Wishes,
