Safari Support: Accessing the LA Zoo’s Inner Circles
The LA Zoo is always a fun, wholesome and educational way to spend an afternoon with the kids. But did you know there are some more exclusive and elegant ways to enjoy and support the animals?
Safari Club is the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s group for significant contributors who want to help grow this oasis of animal and plant life, give back to our community, and participate in GLAZA’s conservation and breeding programs for endangered species. Not only do benefactors enjoy doing good—most of their contributions are also tax deductible.
And there are other perks:
Australian Outback Circle members ($1500 donation) enjoy scavenger hunts in the zoo, behind-the-scenes parties and Zoo Director’s private gatherings with wildlife experts. In the South American Wildlands Circle ($3000) you also get a private animal encounter and tour for six, in the Himalayan Mountain Circle ($5000), a private “Animals & You” presentation for 12. Want the ZooMobile to visit your favorite school or senior center? Then join the Indonesian Rain Forest Circle ($10,000).
But if you really want to make a significant contribution to the Zoo, consider an Animal Naming. Donations vary up to $50,000.
Of course, you can also consider earmarking funds for capital projects, a commemorative bench, or even one of the hand-carved, hand-painted wooden animal figures made by Ohio’s Carousel Works on the new Moss Family Conservation Carousel (consider the Colobus Monkey, Eland or Okapi). On a more modest level, consider the ADOPT program (Animals Depend On People Too).
The Los Angeles Zoo is located at 5333 Zoo Drive, 323.644.4200
