Be sure to stay hydrated this 4th of July weekend, and all summer long, with a reusable water bottle that is as stylish as it is functional. Carrying and refilling one of the bottles listed below is good for your health by eliminating toxic chemicals in disposable plastic bottles and good for the planet by eliminating waste from landfills. We are making it easy for you to live orGLAMically with our carefully curated selection of Top Five orGLAMic Water Bottles. Happy hydrating!
When a mere water bottle is not enough, the creatively named KOR ONE Hydration Vessel should do the trick. Despite having several bottles at my disposal, this is the one that personally gets the most usage in my household. The flip top and ergonomically designed handle makes taking this BPA-free bottle anywhere a breeze and mine has already seen it’s fair share of trips to Malibu and Rome alike.
While this isn’t the only ‘filter in a bottle’ on the market, this is certainly the most chic option I have come across. These bottles are reasonably priced and perfect to keep one in your gym bag, one on the boat, one in the convertible…you get the point. The easily replaceable carbon-filter-top lasts for 2 months or 40 gallons of water (whichever comes first) and the bottles are available in blue, green, black, red, yellow and magenta.
For those of your that prefer an aluminum alternative, SIGG is the leader of the pack with their hundreds of fabulous shapes and designs. Offering smaller bottles for children and flip tops for the athletes out there, there is truly an option for anyone who wants to stay orGLAMically hydrated all year long. And for those of you that like to be exclusive – the company offers high design limited-edition bottles as well.
This San Francisco-based company adds a unique spin to the reusable bottle market. Made of 20% recycled glass, these bottles offer a throwback to the past with their shape and ceramic swing-top lids. With kitschy designs and patters, one can also personalize the bottles by writing or drawing directly on the label. I think that these would make a fantastic party favor or unique gift!
One of the many delightful products by Lifefactory, these glass water bottles are free of known harmful chemicals including bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates and PVC. It should go without saying that I love the sleek modern designs of these bottles and the fun punch of color that the medical-grade silicone sleeves add. These generously sized bottles are sturdy and easy to carry throughout the busiest of days.

When you think of Lanvin, asymmetrical designs with cascades of volume and Duchesse satin come to mind. The design house helmed by Alber Elbaz favors cocktail dresses and finds red carpet time from the likes of Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston. You can find the second U.S. location of fashion house at Crystals at CityCenter. And whether you fancy Lanvin or not, the boutique offers a cornucopia of eye candy that you only seem to be able to find in Sin City.
Bal Harbour, Fla., claims the first outpost of Lanvin, but the Vegas location is the only to carry menswear, designed by Lucas Ossendriiver, and Elbaz’s womenswear collection. It’s the third largest of Lanvin’s flagship stores, with Paris and Tokyo touting larger locations.
The store pays homage to its past when Jeanne Lanvin designed the clothes beginning in 1890. Photos from the company’s Paris archives bedeck the walls alongside Art Deco and Art Nouveau touches that hearken back to the fashion house’s golden era in the 1920s and 1930s. Look for antique chandeliers and Versailles wood parquet floors. The clothing selections hang from wrought iron racks or on blackened steel bookshelves. Lanvin’s creative mannequins line the 17-foot by 60-foot floor-to-ceiling facade bedecked in the fashions and styled in creative enough ways to stop passersby on The Strip.
Look for shoes, bags, jewelry, Arpège fragrances and 120th-anniversary keepsakes ranging from dolls and playing cards to snow globes, along with the Blanche bridal collection and 22 Faubourg totes.
Lanvin is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to midnight. Lanvin, Crystals at CityCenter, 3720 Las Vegas Blvd. S., 702.982.0245.
One hundred years ago last Thursday, a group of entrepreneurs and businessmen stripped away the faltering Italian assets of the French car company Darracq, and renamed their new concern Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili, or ALFA. One century, two world wars and many thousands of cars later, the fortunes of Alfa Romeo are now being celebrated worldwide, but nowhere as enthusiastically as in Milan, where the storied automaker was born.
Recognizing the company’s importance to Milan’s heritage, the City Council worked with the Italian chapter of Alfa’s owner registry as well as the manufacturer itself to stage a four-day centenary celebration that took place this past weekend. Commencing on the company’s June 24 birthday with a formal presentation at the Palazzo Marino and open sessions at the Monza Race Track, the anniversary continued at the nearby Alfa Romeo Museum, where guided tours were offered and visiting hours were extended until midnight.
Roadgoing festivities heated up on the 26th, when a 2-day tour of classic, postwar vintage and modern Alfas began a trek from the Fiera Milano Expo to the Sforzesco Castle at the city’s center, where cars were exhibited and more noteworthy examples were paraded across a stage. In all, organizers welcomed roughly 3,000 different Alfa Romeos from all eras, representing owners from 45 countries. The international rally was prefaced with a presentation that featured the unveiling of a new statue created by Alfa’s styling and design center and artist Agostino Bonalumi. Revealed at the south gate of the Fiera Milano, the bronze sculpture was inspired by the 1900 C52 Spider “Disco Volante,” a limited production 1952 concept car that, like many Alfa experiments of the era, is widely considered to epitomize the manufacturer’s exploration of modernity and futurism in automobile design.
Further celebration of the Italian marque’s anniversary will continue at this August’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, held annually at the renowned Monterey Peninsula golf course. As one of the Concours’ featured spotlights, Alfa Romeo will be a focus of several classes of judging, including one dedicated to the venerable prewar 8C model, a performance benchmark of the genius of head engineer Vittorio Jano that is regarded by many enthusiasts as the finest Alfa Romeo of them all. Just two years ago, a 1938 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta garnered the Concours’ Best in Show award.

When former Miami Dolphin Jason Taylor decides to help the charity that bears his name, he’s not afraid to break a sweat. Taylor joined more than 100 cycle enthusiasts in the inaugural Katina Taylor Spin-A-Thon on June 4.
Cyclists helped raise $8,000 for the Jason Taylor Foundation and the Miramar-based Jason Taylor Reading Room. The reading program instructs inner-city children on phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing skills. As added incentive, participants were invited to join the foundation program “Spiniversity,” run by famed Miami Heat disk jockey, DJ Irie.
The event was hosted by Midtown Athletic Club, one of Miami’s most popular tennis and fitness clubs among those in the know. With 25 outdoor lighted tennis courts to personal training and spa services, Midtown offers upscale facilities, amenities and services in a small-town atmosphere.

With the 2009 release of The Blueprint album, he became the record-holder of most No. 1 albums by a solo artist. The track “Empire State of Mind” pays homage to New York City. In 2009, Forbes listed Beyonce fourth on its list of the “100 Most Powerful and Influential Celebrities” in the world, third on its list of the top-grossing musicians, and No. 1 on the list of “Best-Paid Celebs Under 30,” with more than $87 million dollars in earnings between 2008 and 2009.

Similar to Beyonce, Jay-Z has relationships with powerful companies outside of music such as Budweiser, which he contributes to their marketing and ad development.

You know Billy Zane…he’s always the villian, (for the most part) and probably most memorably as the guy who tried to split up Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. But Zane is not really all that bad, (personally I loved him as the fake Damon Bradley in Only You) he just has a tendency to play those naughty boys on film. Tonight though, was a completely different direction for the thespian – amidst a sellout crowd of fellow actors, art patrons and friends – he debuted “KILLING WITH LOVE” at the Frank Pictures Gallery, a collection of works he has created over the last 14 years.

Titanic Co-Stars Frances Fisher, Billy Zane and Guest

Barbara DeVerzon, Armando Ramos, Baroness Kimberly Moore, and the artist himself.
This was something Zane started while spending 7 months on the aforementioned Cameron blockbuster, but it has now become a creative outlet he explores and enjoys no matter where that ‘other job’ takes him.

Suddenly, by Billy Zane, 2010

Cleaning Agent, Billy Zane, 2010
Zane says that he derives much of his inpiration from the Japanese sword fighting martial art of Kendo, but one can certainly recognize – a little here, a little there — the subtle influence of the places he has traveled and the people he has met along the way. After all, it is said you write what you know – doesn’t the same go for painting?

The Fourth of July is a day that marks when the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. We as a nation mark our independence from overindulgence with food at barbecues, picnics, family reunions, baseball games, carnivals and county fairs. This is another holiday that we prepare ourselves to be svelte and throw it all away with some chips and dip. If you are in charge of the food, here are a few recommendations to make you the hostess with the most-ess while serving more than just a fruit plate as a healthy option.
Meat: Fire up the grill and throw on a turkey burger. This is something that should not be skimped on when it comes to organic. Buy lean, free-range and hormone free. Turkey is a great alternative at about 193 calories for a 4-ounce patty, but it can also be disappointing when it turns out dry. I whip up my turkey burgers by getting ground meat and adding in goat cheese and spinach. This way it cooks in to add some flavor and rids the rubber effect away. Thinking of skipping the bun? Try to coat it with a thin layer of breadcrumbs and cook it in olive oil. Voila! Carbohydrate coma I think not!
Grilled Veggies: Asparagus. At less then 4 calories per spear, how can you go wrong? Pick them up at your local farmers’ market and you’ll get your dose of heart healthy fiber, foliate and potassium. This is perfection and all helping to lower your blood pressure. Score!
Beverage: H2O. Make sure to stay hydrated. Water alone is a little drab. If you would like to make it fancy add some bubbles to your water, perhaps submerge it with mint leaves or freeze some berries in an ice cube tray. There’s going to be a few that may add some vodka to that, OK maybe more than a few, but they will thank you when they wake up the next morning headache free because you kept them hydrated. Please remember if you are going to add an adult additive into your water please, please, please do not drink and drive.
Happy Independence Day, America. Remember to please be safe. Until next time my friends, visit www.raylenebartolacci.com. To health and wellness. Salute.
