Game on for Hublot and FIFA

By Diana Gdula on May 20th, 2010

A worldly watch for the world’s game, Swiss-born luxury watch brand Hublot announced in April that it is bringing its reputation for action and movement to the soccer field as the official watchmaker of the FIFA World Cup in June 2010 in South Africa and in the  summer of 2014 in Brazil. Today we received images of Hublot’s new limited edition FIFA World Cup watch.

The official details on the watch itself are as follows:

The case, bezel and dial are fashioned from pink gold, with a subtle tone-on-tone drawing of the prestigious FIFA World Cup Trophy revealed at 6 o’clock. An illustration of the world’s most prestigious sports prize is also engraved on the watch’s solid gold case-back, as a symbol of the alliance between luxury and the world of football. Embellished by an alligator and rubber strap, and with a chic and sporty look, this exclusive automatic Classic Fusion model is available in just 100 numbered pieces.

Hublot has an extensive, illustrious track record on athletic turf, such as a past sponsorship deal with the football club Manchester United; appointment in March 2010 as the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1; host of the Hublot “Tennis Fusion” Celebrity Challenge; creation of ski manufacturer Zai’s All Black skis; recent partnerships with Euro 2008, Alinghi, Swiss America’s Cup team, BMC Swiss cycling, Ski School Courcheval, El Paradiso ski resort in St. Moritz, Polo Club Gstaad, Polo Club Saint-Tropez, Polo Club de Zurich, Grand Real Nautico de Palma, Yacht Club Courcheval, Yacht Club Monaco; and ties to top ranking athletes including Bode Miller, Tim Morehouse, Justin Gimelstob, David Beckham, Stan Wawrinka, and Miguel Novillo Astrada. High-end Hublot has scored enough winning goals to rightfully earn its place as FIFA’s official timekeeper.
