Find the Right Wine at Double Helix
When you’re in the mood for wine, head over to Double Helix Bar at the Shoppes at the Palazzo for a selection of more than 300 wines by the bottle and 50 wines by the glass.
The boutique features a VIP room where a collection of classic vintage Bordeaux among other reserve wines are kept at an ideal temperature. The shop sells Riedel glassware, gift boxes, wine accessories, wine books and fine chocolates.
The service is pretty amazing too. Find a great wine and Double Helix will ship the bottles to almost anywhere in the United States. If room service doesn’t offer the wines you want in your room, Double Helix can deliver to hotels on The Strip. If you hanker a wine vintage or producer that Double Helix does not carry, the boutique will attempt to get it for you.
Double Helix also offers weekly wine tasting events. Each features a different winery whose varietal collections are available for sale at the boutique. The tastings take place every Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a $5 charge per participant and includes a complimentary Double Helix wine glass and 10 percent discount on the featured wines of the day. Or take part in the happy hours every day from 2 to 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close at the bar.
At the bar, Double Helix offers more than 50 wines by the glass, available in either 2-ounce taste portions or 5-ounce glass servings. A preservation system allows the bar to serve highly sought-after wines including Dom Perignon as well as wines from around the world rarely poured by the glass.
