Fern Mallis Departs IMG to Start Own Consulting Firm

A name synonymous with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Fern Mallis recently announced she’ll be leaving her post as global ambassador for IMG Worldwide, who produces the event, to start her own consulting firm. Interestingly, her journalistic-friendly presence won’t be too far from the shows as IMG Fashion has signed up as her first client. In her role as executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in the 90s, and later when she joined IMG in 2001, Mallis was a integral player in establishing New York as a key fixture of the fashion show circuit bringing in impressive sponsorship and attention. Additionally, she also helped established fashion week in Berlin, Mumbai, and Miami Swim. With her new venture, Fern Mallis LLC, she will be consulting on fashion related events and undoubtedly some fashion week events as well.
