This past weekend identical Canadian design duo DSquared flew into Dubai for the launch of their new boutique at the Dubai Mall. The Caten brothers are renowned for their avant-garde and dynamic designs infused with energy and sex appeal. The opening of Dubai’s DSqaured was celebrated at Zuma restaurant amongst a trendy and enthusiastic crowd.

The identical twins were born in Canada but after studying at Parsons New York moved to Milan where they worked for Gianni Versace and Diesel, the latter which funded and launched DSquared. They introduced their men’s collection in 1994, and in 2003 the women’s collection.

The Caten brothers have gained a reputation for their impressive and at times shocking runway performances. At the end of a show in 2005 Christina Aguilera appeared and stripped off the clothes of the male models. Most recently in January 2010 at the DSquared autumn and winter show in Milan, German Pop Singer Bill Kaulitz descended from the ceiling in a caged elevator.

The Dubai store opened in partnership with the Chalhoub Group on Fashion Avenue in the Dubai Mall. An electric new addition to Dubai’s Fashion scene, expect everything from this store. Sexy, edgy, and dynamic designs, DSquared is grand and it will cease to amaze.
