On Your Mark, Get Set, Go: The Haute 5 Places to Jog in Miami

Brickell Key Walking Path

Surrounded by water, this path is perfect for an early morning jog to watch the sunrise. And with beautiful art along the way, you’ll feel like you’re in your own private exercising paradise. Not much of a morning jogger? Parts of the path are shaded making for a comfortable jog in the sunny afternoon. Providing unobstructed views of the water, there’s no better place to get your runners high. And when you’re done, head over to the nearby Mandarin Oriental for a massage. Just a suggestion.

South Beach

Ready to strut your stuff on the sexiest sidewalk in Miami? You don’t have to be a Kardashian to love jogging (or pogo jogging) along South Beach. Let the ocean breeze cool you off as you jog through one of the best people watching territories in the Magic City. With tons of restaurants, bars and interesting cars passing by, you won’t even realize your burning serious calories. And don’t be surprised to catch celebs with the same idea; the South Beach shoreline is one of the most popular exercise destinations around.

Oleta River State Park

There’s nothing that compares to the simple pleasure of jogging in a park. With its beautiful views, Oleta River State Park located in Biscayne Bay allows you to interact with nature and truly embrace its beauty. Offering a ton of outdoor activities, it’s the biggest urban park in the state and features a beach 1,200 feet long and various nature trails with surrounding wildlife. And at the end of the park, joggers enjoy a large mangrove forest preserving native South Florida plants and wildlife.

The Boardwalk in Miami Beach

Kelly Bensimon approved, the Miami Beach Boardwalk running alongside Miami Beach is full of activity. If ocean views, beach breezes and sand-less ground is your your idea of a perfect jog, look no farther than this boardwalk. Home of joggers, runners and cyclists, this wooden boardwalk was built in the 1980’s and spans four miles for a number of outdoor activities. While jogging, you’ll pass countless coffee shops, seafood shacks, restaurants and bars so feel free to veer off for a bit. Beware of hawking tourists, though. The boardwalk is one of the most popular go-to Miami spots in the city.

Key Biscayne

This active island boasts ideal jogging from the Rickenbacker Causeway to the tip of Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Home to a number of running events, such as the Key Biscayne Lighthouse Run scheduled every November, thousands of joggers flock to this lushly landscaped tropical destination. For a relaxing jog, check out the Village Green with its half-mile course. And since you’ve burned a ton of calories, oh active one, how about checking out one of the many famous restaurants in the area? Come on. You deserve it.
