No Hangover Here: How To Do Vegas The Right Way
There’s no better place than Las Vegas to blow some cash with style and panache. And shhh, we’re about to tell you a secret. It’s officially passé to spend all your money on necessities like a third summerhouse, or a second Lamborghini, or a yacht bigger than Tiger Woods’s Privacy.
The latest thing, if you’ve got cash to spare, is to spend it on a weekend in Sin City, and we’re not talking about gambling.
Who wants to spend money to make more money when our readers have enough money? The people over at Forbes agree, and decided to come up with a way to show you just the sort of things you’re going to want to spend your green on in Las Vegas, a city that takes excess and luxury to a whole new level.
Their recs:
For food, go to Joel Robuchon, a Parisian-inspired restaurant that serves tapas-style food, out-of-this-world wines, and has other restaurants in all the chic capitals of the world. Or what about sinking your teeth into a $5,000 burger from Fleur de Lys?
For digs, the Hugh Hefner suite at the Palms Resort is a must, if you can cough up the cool $40,000 per night charge.
For fun, try an hour-long dive at the shark tank at the Mandalay Bay’s aquarium.
And for nightlife, it wouldn’t be Vegas without some clubbing. Forbes says that the place to be is at XS in the Wynn Encore resort, where the rec is to sample the $10,000 Ono cocktail, whose 1981 Charles Heidsieck Champagne and Louis XIII de Remy Martin Black Pearl cognac come complete with a set of sterling silver cuff links for him and a 18-karat white gold necklace for her. Only in Vegas!
Of course, these were their picks (with a surprising absence from the new CityCenter). For some of the Haute Living picks that made it into our print edition last year, check out our article “High Rollers.”
