The folks at Gucci have been busy in recent months. Last week we told you about the Gucci Artisans project, and now comes more buzz. This time, out of London. The Gucci Icon-Temporary, which launched last year, first in New York, then in Miami during Art Basel, opened in London last night.

Gucci creative director Frida Giannini was there to celebrate the opening of the temporary space on Earlham Street, Seven Dials, Covent Garden. This is the third stop for the pop-up on a four-city tour, and hip Brits and worldwide superstars were out in droves to toast the opening. Poppy Delevigne, Julia Restoin, Natalie Press, Dominic Cooper, Ben Hudson, John Taylor and Nick Rhodes, and Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon were just a few of the a-listers in attendance.  The event was hosted by award winning music producer and artist Marc Ronson, who also collaborated on the design of a limited edition Gucci-Ronson sneaker collection available for purchase in the Icon-Temporary store. There was also a cocktail hour and music by The Misshapes’ Geordon Nicol and Leigh Lezark.

Following the opening, over 400 guests headed to renowned jazz club Ronnie Scotts, Soho. Entertainment there was provided by DJs Seb Chew, Matthew Stone, Uffie and Pipa and Iwan, with Friendly Fires, and Patrick Wolf and Chauffeur all adding to the night’s revelry.
