Fashionable Philanthropy at Brickell Salon
There are few things more satisfying in life than giving of yourself to a worthy cause. OK, well there are many things that come close, but when you can pair up fundraising with fancy cocktail parties, it seems like a win-win for all involved.
Raquel Watters of RikRak Salon thought so too and is doing her part to make a difference in the local community. On April 20, from 7 to 10 p.m. RikRak Salon will host fashionable philanthropists for an in-salon cocktail soiree that will include complimentary polish changes, eye makeup, lemon drop drinks, and fashion tips in mini consultations with Raquel Watters and C Madeline of C. Madeline’s Vintage Clothes boutique.
So what would such a special occasion be fore? Why to support Womanade of Miami of course. This nonprofit raises funds for women and children who reside at the Community Partnership of Homeless. On May 8, the community-wide campaign Womanade Vintage Fashion Show “Take a Walk In Her Shoes,” will take place and RikRak is helping prepare 10 women and their daughters to walk the runway by providing them with complimentary makeovers. Even if you can’t make the April 20 cocktail party, you can still help support the cause by dropping off donations of toiletries, socks, undergarments, feminine products, or cash contributions throughout the month of April to RikRak Salon, Boutique & Bar at 1428 Brickell Ave., Lobby Level of Four Seasons.

Sure, there are occasions when we want a tadpole hipster to do our hair and tell us we’re fab. But most of the time, we want a haircut—and cutter—we can rely on. Enter Umberto, the landmark BH salon
