Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Brings More Celebrated Chefs to The Strip

Just when you thought that even more celebrity chefs couldn’t find a home on The Strip comes news of the lineup of restaurants at Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The Strip already has the likes of Pierre Gagnaire, Thomas Keller, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali, Michael Mina, Joël Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, Bobby Flay and Tom Collichio with outposts in Vegas. This is one trend that shows no sign of stopping.

Cosmopolitan plans to open Blue Ribbon from brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg. They already have nine incarnations of the restaurant in the Big Apple when they bring their concept to the Strip.

Chef Scott Conant brings his Scarpetta Italian restaurant to Sin City. His New York restaurant received three stars from the New York Times and New York Magazine, and a recommendation from the Michelin Guide in 2009. Conant also plans a casual wine bar.

New York City restaurateur Costas Spiliadis brings Estiatorio Milos, a Greek seafood spot, to Vegas. In New York, you can select your fish, flown in from around the world, from selections spread out on ice before they’re reeled in to the kitchen.

Acclaimed Los Angeles chef David Myers brings his Comme Ca with Parisian staples to Cosmopolitan. STK, the popular steakhouse concept in New York’s Meatpacking District from The One Group, is also planning an outpost here.

Cosmopolitan is reportedly in talks with Jason Strauss and Noah Tepperberg, partners in Tao at the Venetian and Lavo at the Palazzo, to open a rooftop nightclub and pool day/nightlife operation, according to Robin Leach at Vegas DeLuxe. Nightclub and Bar Magazine recently named Tao the highest-grossing club in the United States. Last weekend, Tao reported 1,400 diners in one night and 7,400 patrons through the nightclub when hip-hop mogul Jay-Z celebrated his concert after-party there with Beyonce.

The 2,995-room Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas plans to open by the end of the year. The two 50-story towers are snuggled between the Bellagio and CityCenter in the middle of The Strip. The resort plans to offer three distinct pool experiences and more than 100,000 square feet of gaming.
