What MADE Him Haute The Lakers have flourished under his ownership, winning eight world championships. His 1979 purchase of the team (along with other entities) for $67.5 million was the largest transaction in sports history at the time.

What Makes Him Haute Now: He’s going to be on the cover of Haute Living Los Angeles, despite the fact that he notoriously doesn’t do interviews. Yesterday, Haute Living Publisher Seth Semilof joined Dr. Buss and his daughter Jeannie (who is the team’s executive vice president of business operations) at the Lakers’ practice facility for the cover photo shoot, conducted by our photographer Tatijana Shoan. The setting was stellar, with all eight of the Lakers’ trophies serving as the ultimate backdrop for what is sure to be an epic cover. The players were on-site as well, getting ready for their game tomorrow night in San Antonio against the Spurs. Dr. Buss spoke with Semilof about his unmatched run as the leader of the franchise and about the legacy he is leaving behind, while Jeannie discussed what steps she is taking to protect and enhance the Lakers tradition of greatness. Look for the exclusive article in the May/June edition of Haute Living Los Angeles, which will also be available online.
