Barton G. Earns Ink from Vogue

There’s been a lot of hype this month about Barton G.’s newest venture at the old Versace Mansion, and not just from local sources, like us here at Haute Living.

The Villa by Barton G., a property that includes a private dining room as well as a 10-suite boutique hotel, has been in the works since last November, when Barton G. Weiss inked a deal to take over ownership of the Ocean Drive estate. He and his team worked around the clock to restore the 1930s Italian renaissance villa to its former glory, a feat that included polishing every tile in the place.  On March 12, Weiss opened the Private Dining Room at The Villa by Barton G. for a VIP, invite-only cocktail reception, which our own Editorial Director Stephanie Wilson attended and reviewed here.

On Wednesday, we realized that Weiss’ efforts are not just fascinating those of us here in the Magic City. Thanks to a little behind-the-scenes help from PR guru Charlie Cinnamon, The Villa by Barton G. earned one of the most pride-worthy mentions of all—from Vogue.

In an interview with Richard Alleman and edited by Valerie Steiker, Weiss appears in an online travel piece for the “People are Talking About” section of the national mag that has been the star of several feature films like The Devil Wears Prada and The September Issue, and has been called the Fashion Bible of our times.

In the Q&A, Weiss talks with Alleman about everything from his biggest reinvention challenges, to the pros and cons of an Ocean Drive address, to the survival and revival of South Beach, to the Versace connection and homage.

Find out more of what Weiss had to say in the Vogue interview.
