Around the World in 109 Days With the Yachts of Seabourn

The Yachts of Seabourn have recently announced plans to build a new luxury ship that will take 450 haute passengers around the world in 109 days. The ship’s grand voyage is scheduled to begin its tour on January 5, 2012.

The luxury yacht, expected to be built this year and debuted in 2011, will set sail from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, head down to South America, go east across the Atlantic to Africa and then Asia, and then finally swing back to the Middle East and Europe.

A plethora of stops are scheduled along the way allowing would-be travelers to enjoy spending time in some of the most luxurious ports in the world including Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and the remote St. Helena Island.

Other stops in South America and Africa include Devils Island, French Guiana; Recife; Salvador; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Walvis Bay, Namibia; Cape Town and Durban, South Africa, and many other premier destinations.

“Among stops in Asia: Singapore; Ho Chi Minh City and Chan May in Vietnam; Keelung (Taipei); Shanghai; Hong Kong; Phuket, Thailand; and Port Kelang (for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia),” according to an article in USA Today.

“The ship also will call in Cochin, Mormugao (Goa) and Mumbai in India; Khasab, Salalah and Muscat in Oman; Dubai; Safaga (for Luxor), Sharm el-Sheikh and Alexandria, Egypt; Aqaba, Jordan; and Corfu,” the article said.

Rates for this fantastic voyage haven’t been set, but they’re scheduled to be released on March 23. The moment we find out how much this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will cost, we will tell you when and where to sign up.
