Miu Miu Capsule Shoe Collection Spring 2010
by Nicola Payne
If Prada is the intimidating, cutting-edge fashion editor who never makes a faux-pas when it comes to high fashion, then Miu Miu is the funky fashion blogger whose style aesthetic is fresh, creative, and always daring.
The younger sister line to Miuccia Prada’s legendary Prada label, Miu Miu has been creating waves for its high and low, modern and vintage, concoctions since its launch in 1992.
Miuccia Prada has been known to say that she “thinks in Prada, and dreams in Miu Miu.” And the latest shoe capsule collection to come out of the Miu Miu line is inarguably the stuff dreams are made of.
As an alternative to the ultra-girly, almost childlike heels of the quirky Spring/Summer 2010 collection, whose round toe, Mary Jane styles came embellished with flower and animal designs on silk material, Miu Miu has created a capsule collection that draws on the breezy ease of menswear as inspiration.
Classic heel and loafer styles have been reworked in patent leather, and come in pale rose, white, and black colors. For the more daring out there, jazz shoes and moccasins, that have been liberally doused in studs and sparkles, are sure to be a hit with the fashion forward crowd that Miu Miu attracts. The result? A brand new take on classic styles of shoes seen throughout history, that manage to be both edgy and demure—just like the quintessential Miu Miu girl.
Available in May from Miu Miu stores only.
