Making Waves on Miami Beach
While Miami may be teeming with sports fans who have nothing but the big game on the brain this weekend, let’s locals not forget that the football fanatics will departing the Magic City shortly, making plenty of room for the yachting enthusiasts who will be cruising into town for the 22nd annual Yacht & Brokerage Show taking place from Feb. 11 to 15. And while the gates don’t officially open until next Thursday, the transformation of the Indian Creek Waterway on Collins Avenue has already begun.
The event, which features more than 1.2 million square feet, completely in water, is even more impressive when you hear that there will be more than $1 billion worth of luxury yachting vessels stopping on our shores from all corners of the globe.
The transformation of the waterfront, spanning from the Fontainebleau north to 56th Street, began last Thursday and will continue on until show time. At 164 feet, Westport Yachts’ Evviva is already making waves as one of the standouts of the event.
