In our one-on-one interview, Portnow tells Editorial Director Stephanie Wilson about his love for the music industry, how he deals with the egos that often rear their ugly heads in his line of work, and the scramble to solve last-minute snafus that arise before airtime. “Portnow reminisces about how last year ‘two acts dropped out of the show, on the day of the show, three hours before airtime. It was a challenge to say the least,’ referring to Rihanna and Chris Brown. But as is the case with any challenge, that incident was taken in stride, as this wasn’t the first unforeseen mishap.”
