Gourmet On The Go: The Haute 5 Take-Out Spots in Las Vegas

Its been a long day and all you can think about is food. But the thought of cooking after a long days work just makes you cringe and your just not in the mood for a waiters attentive eye. We’ve got just the thing, this week’s Haute 5 fine dining carryout spots.

TAO Asian Bistro
If you’re in the mood for Japanese cuisine, try a little take out from TAO Asian Bistro located in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Considered to be one of the best restaurants in Vegas, TAO won’t disappoint. You can choose from a wide variety of Sushi and Sashimi or you can try one of their specialty dishes like the Salmon Sashimi with Avocado, Crispy Onions and Sweet and Spicy Sesame sauce, or the Chef’s Choice, Omakase of Sushi and/or Sashimi. Since Asian culture is very much about sharing plates, they also have a few of those for you to try, such as the Satay of Chicken with Peanut Sauce and Sashimi of Kobe Beef with Fresh Wasabi Sauce. Both of these are delightful treats you should try.

Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine
Get a taste of Honolulu right at home with Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine. James Beard award winner Chef Roy Yamaguchi features the freshest local ingredients, European sauces, and bold Asian spices with a focus on seafood at his restaurant. The food is unique and beautiful with pleasing textures and bold flavors. Roy also brings four fresh fish selections from Hawaii to Las Vegas with signature creations like the Hibachi Grilled Salmon, Szechwan Spiced Baby Back Ribs and Roy’s “Original” Blackened Island Ahi. And don’t forget about dessert with the popular Chocolate Soufflé.

Original India Restaurant and Bar
Origin India Restaurant and Bar is a modern, refined approach to traditional Indian cuisine. The menu, created by Chef Kuldeep Singh embraces the rich, intense flavors giving you the tastes you crave in the comfort of your home. Signature dishes like filo-wrapped fresh Atlantic “black pearl” sea scallops in lime and chili, crisp fried with beetroot and olive chutney, and the roasted striped bass marinated in coriander, cumin and lime zest served on red pepper extract. These dishes will take you away to a whole other continent.

The Cupcakery
If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, then check out The Cupcakery. This family-owned bakery specializes in world famous cupcakes and was founded right here in Sin City. These gourmet cupcakes are hand made daily from scratch using the finest ingredients. Some house favorites include the Southern Belle, a sumptuous red velvet cake smothered with cream cheese frosting; Trip to Graceland, an Elvis inspired cupcake that is a decadent chunky peanut butter cake, layered with a light banana cream frosting, rolled in applewood smoked bacong, and drizzled with honey; and if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, try the Grasshopper, one of the Cupcakery’s originals, a dark chocolate cake, covered with mint chocolate buttercream, and mint chips. And with seasonal flavors every month, you have many cupcakes to choose from.

The Capital Grille
Rounding out this list is The Capital Grille inside the Fashion Show Mall, known for its critically-acclaimed dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood, and award winning wines. Here you can not only immerse yourself in elegant savory food but you can take it home with you too. You can choose from the Chef’s suggestions, which include Seared Tenderloin with Butter Poached Lobster or Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin with Shallot butter. You can also try one of their famous steaks from the Dry Aged Sirloin Steak to the Double Cut Lamb Rib Chops. At the Capital Grille, take-out becomes a culinary event.
