Starwood Sells Bliss Spas
by Jillian Lobato

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. closed its $100 million sale of Bliss spas to Steiner Leisure Ltd. The hotel and leisure company said the sale will allow the company to concentrate mainly on its hospitality operations and hotel brands.

As part of the deal, Starwood will still offer Bliss and Remede spas and amenities at its W hotels and St. Regis hotels, and its Aloft properties will continue to provide Bliss Tried+Blue products.

Starwood has 982 properties in more than 100 countries, and its other brands include Westin, Le Meridien and Sheraton. Shares of Starwood Hotels & Resorts added 14 cents to $36.71 in midday trading.
