Magnum Marine’s Largest Yacht Yet is Also Eco-Friendly
by Jillian Lobato
Magnum Marine has revealed its largest yacht yet, the Magnum 100′ model, which is expected to be ready for delivery by 2012. Styled by Italian designer, Alberto Mancini, the yacht was given an entirely different look. The luxurious yacht is also eco-friendly! The vessel is built in advanced composite foams and carbon fiber, allowing critical HP to weight ratios to be met with lower power, and also making the vessel structure more firm and efficient. Magnum has installed surface drives which not only reduce fuel consumption, but also increase its top speed. It will also feature an electric “harbor” drive, which is an electric wing engine for slow speed operation that runs completely silent and smoke free.
The Magnum 100′ features different seating, dining and viewing areas, with an expandable top that offers various shaded areas that can be moved. The interior is also designed for “green” lovers. Interior LED and fluorescent lighting increase efficiency and decrease interior heat load. The yacht will feature four double and very large staterooms, heads, reception and salon areas, as well as crew cabins. Customers will also have the opportunity to customize the yacht according to his or her needs and wishes.
