Dining With the Stars in the New Year
by Alison Agudo

It may be a new year, but some things in New York never change, including the copious amounts of celebrities that chose to wine and dine in the Big Apple. Read on to find out who was spotted dining where, and with whom.

Pop-diva Madonna was spotted having a private meeting and dinner with her ex, Sean Penn, choosing to chow down on French food at Adour Alain Ducasse.

Mega-stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were spotted at swank Italian restaurant Alto where Alec Baldwin was also having dinner, but not with the dynamic duo. It’s reported that Jolie and Pitt were there for “somewhere between four and six hours with friends.”

Anne Hathaway had a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs at Balthazar while Harry Connick Jr. dined with his 10-year-old daughter at Chez Josephine and Richard Dreyfuss enjoyed a pasta meal at Coppola’s.

Shortly after finishing her New Year’s Eve performance, Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony were spotted dining on caviar and rose Champagne at Charles with Ryan Seacrest and police commissioner Ray Kelly.

Downtown Cipriani welcomes Lindsay Lohan and friends, including hotelier Jason Pomeranc while Al Gore and three friends dined at the nouveau-American restaurant, David Burke Townhouse.

Hugh Jackman enjoyed a cupcake at Magnolia Bakery while rumors swirled at Nobu 57 where Chloe Sevigny and Kevin Connolly looked “very much like they were on a date” over midtown sushi.

New York Jet Braylon Edwards had New Year’s Eve dinner at Philippe, where it’s reported he was served child-support papers—not the ideal way to start the new year, but most likely a great meal nonetheless.

Gossip Girl stars and real-life hot couple Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr shared movie-theater nachos at Regal Union Square Stadium 14 while Rouge Tomate was buzzing with stars celebrating the premiere of Leap Year with patrons including Amy Adams, Matthew Goode, Adam Scott, Rob Thomas, and Breckin Meyer.

Strip House was the place to be for Eli Manning and the Giants’ entire offensive line who devoured steaks while Tanuki Tavern was the reunion location for exes Lydia Hearst and Ryan Cabrera.
