Wayne Gretzky and Wife’s New York Apartment Search
by Alison Agudo
Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky and his wife, Janet Jones, were in New York City this week for some holiday shopping that included a pied-a-terre in the $7 million to $15 million range.
Wayne Gretzky is a hockey legend and former New York Ranger, and he was spotted in New York City doing some holiday shopping with his wife Janet…but they weren’t doing the usual kind of holiday shopping that involves browsing stores for family and friend gift ideas, but rather the kind of holiday shopping that involves million dollar apartment hunting. Happy Holidays, indeed.
Wayne was officially in town for business, which included a shooting for a new ESPN advertisement, and Janet took the time to tour the city with a real estate broker from Sotheby’s International Realty. It is reported that during the home-hunting, apartments such as a 3,400-square-foot, five-bedroom, and five-and-a-half-bathroom condo were visited. That particular condo was listed for $7.4 million and is located at the Park Millennium on West 67th Street. Janet and the broker also visited a three-bedroom, $14.5 million condo in the Plaza, and a three-bedroom at 15 Central Park West priced at around $12 million.
According to reports, Gretzky won’t be entering into apartment buying fast and furiously; the hockey star has a reputation for making sound real estate investments, typically knowing when to buy and sell.
