Tribeca Grand unveils new Penthouse Suite
by Alison Agudo

Introducing the new luxurious Penthouse designed by William Sofield and located in the Tribeca Grand Hotel.

The lavish new Penthouse suite located at the Tribeca Grand Hotel was immaculately designed by William Sofield to exude pure residential luxury and haute living. The Penthouse features more than 1,400 square feet, and an entrance way that includes custom oak entry doors with bronze deco pattered inlay and hand rubbed red lacquered ceilings.

Sofield says, “I imagined the Penthouse to be both the ideal retreat from city pursuits as well as a sumptuous pied-a-terre for entertaining—a cinematic space where your alter ego can have some fun.” Sofield dramatically juxtaposed rich materials and textures in palettes of champagne, taupe, and espresso with deep terra cotta, red, and ebony.

Guests in the Penthouse will enjoy an incredibly spacious living area which features tiger-onyx walls with a fixed cantilevered travertine desk and bench. The living room is also equipped with a 60” Plasma TV and surround sound, a centrally controlled music system and wet bar with sultan red onyx stone top perfect for mixing up a delicious dirty martini while entertaining friends. There is also a dining area that consists of a Warren Platner sculpted steel wire and smoked glass dining table with sweeping city view from the floor to the ceiling.

The Penthouse features a master suite that is adorned with a sumptuous custom silk-velvet and leather upholstered bed with Frette linens. The master bath is swathed in Roman travertine with antique pearly granite detail and bronze mirror.

As an additional and luxurious feature, the Penthouse also includes a private haven in the form of a rooftop terrace, which is only accessible through the suites central staircase built beneath a floating glass pendant chandelier.

President and COO of Grand Hotels NYC, Tony Fant, says, “The Tribeca Grand Penthouse with its exclusive roof-top terrace melds the hotel’s sleek mid twentieth century classic design and the understated opulence of Manhattan’s most affluent neighborhood with the quiet sophistication and comfort that one would expect from the Grand.”
