Friends of the environment and fans of fabulous art were alive and kicking at the Eco Artland VIP cocktail reception showcasing eco-friendly/green art installations and product innovations on Monday, at real estate visionary Thomas Kramer’s private Star Island home in Miami Beach.

Star Island came alive last night as hosts Thomas Kramer and Hope Gainer welcomed guests to a VIP cocktail reception that showcased eco-friendly/green art installations and product innovations and created awareness about living green from Eco Chamber and Good Planet and benefiting Take Stock in Children.

“The state of the global economy and the planet is where my inspiration came from for this year’s theme to kick-off Art Basel in Miami and thus, the inception of Eco Artland 2009,” says Gainer of Hope international. “I felt this was a year to make a statement about our planet in a creative setting, while both entertaining and educating the art community. Rather than showcasing expensive, unaffordable art, I felt it was more relevant to showcase art with a message.”

From the moment guests stepped into the green wonderland that Kramer’s home had elegantly been transformed into, one thing was clear: living well can include living green. Hope International was the producer and curator for the extremely successful evening that saw some of Miami’s hautest Art Basel aficionados and eco-friendly groups join forces for an evening of honoring and showcasing those that live green and love it.

Guests were not only privy to an eco-friendly environment filled with green themed monumental sculptures, performance art, and video installations, they also learned about living green from various information stands dispersed throughout Kramer’s luxurious private grounds. The Electric Bicycle Store, Grow Miami, Spouts!, SkySail Charters, Good Planet, and Eco Chambers were all on hand to create awareness about the importance of not only understanding what eco-living is about, but how best to enforce it in your own life.

Artists inspiring work was displayed and highlighted as guests crowded around the pieces and soaked up their powerful messages. Artists for the evening were, Harry Nelson, Jorge Fernandez, Lazaro Amaral, Marc Hubert D’Ge, Maria Arminda Palacio, Mary Aline Mac Donald, Michael Thomas Diaz, Nikangel, Stephen Gamson, Tomas Loewy, Carol Adrianza, and Victor Spinelli.
