Fashion designer Tory Burch has listed her 1980 oceanfront contemporary Southampton home for $17.9 million. In October, fashion designer, co-founder and creative director, Tory Burch, purchased a magnificent 25-room Georgian house in Southampton’s estate section, which formally belonged to the late attorney Howard Gittis, former adviser to billionaire Ron Perelman. With the new Georgian home featuring plenty of room for Burch to enjoy, she apparent had no further need for her second Southampton home, which she has just listed for $17.9 million. The home Burch is selling is a beautiful 1980 oceanfront contemporary home situated on 4.5 acres of land on Meadow Lane. The 6,000-square-foot home features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a pool, and 200 feet of ocean frontage. Forty-three-year-old Burch purchased the property from her ex-husband, venture capitalist Chris Burch, in 2008 for $22.5 million. Burch originally had plans to tear down the home and replace it with a 7,100-square-foot, seven-bedroom beach house, however since she is selling it now, the property is being offered with the already approved plans for Burch’s beach house, should the new owner be interested in a “little” renovations prior to moving in. Burch’s fashion brand is extremely popular among celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman, and Hilary Swank. Burch wanted to go against the minimalist trend that was popular at the time Tory Burch was launched in 2004, and she designed her flagship boutique in New York to feel more like her own room than a traditional retail store, featuring mirrored walls, Lucite fixtures, and orange lacquer doors.
