by Alison Agudo
On December 14, Entourage’s leading man, Adrian Grenier, hosted the 4th annual charity: ball to benefit charity: water at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The evening was a successful turnout of celebrities and guests surrounded by a multimedia exhibition curated by founder Scott Harrison.
More than 1,200 guests attended the gala including Kristin Chenoweth, Gina Gershon, Fisher Stevens, Kelsey Grammer, Julian Lennon, Kevin Navayne, Rocco Dispirito, Richie Rich, Lauren Bush, Monique Pean, Ilyasah Shabazz, Emma Snowdon Jones, Derek Blasberg, Susan Shin, Nanette Lepore, Toure, Project Runway cycle six winner Irina Shabayeva, Twitter creator Jack Dorsey, with a surprise musical guest performance by singer/songwriter Rob Murat.
The gala brought in more than $1.7 million from ticket sales, silent and live auctions, and private donations, including a generous donation from Bebo founder Michael Birch who matched the evening’s proceeds. Throughout the night, charity: ball raised additional funds by encouraging guests to participate in its annual simulated “Waterwalk.” Donors were also able to sponsor a freshwater well—complete with project progress and GPS coordinates plotted on GoogleEarth.
