What You Get During Art Basel in Miami
by Lianamar Davila Sanabria
Art Basel is almost here, ladies and gents! We at Haute Living aren’t the only ones excited though. The art world and the hospitality industry are equally as ecstatic to have the wave of out-of-towners Art Basel attracts in town. As we push through these economic times, many Miami Beach properties, such as the W South Beach and the Gansevoort South, are offering special Art Basel promotions to get the ball rolling.
Since the W South Beach is still Miami’s shiny new toy, they are juicing it for all it’s worth. Their “Arrive to Escape” package features a four-night stay in a stunning suite with an ocean view and private balcony, VIP transportation from the airport to the hotel, two tickets to Art Basel’s invite-only Vernissage party, a complimentary Acura car service to Art Basel shows, and two delicious cocktails upon arrival. You can get this fantastic first-class treatment all for $1,179 per night.
Now that the cast of Miami Social isn’t constantly parading around the rooftop at Plunge, they need to keep their rooms booked. The Gansevoort South is hosting a few events with hopes of attracting some premium clientele their way. These events include: Pulse Art Fair, Pulse Happy Hour at Plunge for exhibitors and VIPs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Pulse Wrap Party at Plunge with synchronized swimming performance, Surface Lounge, a lounge and digital art display by Surface Magazine open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and Surface Closing Party featuring celebrity commissioned designs on the final night of Art Basel.
If this hasn’t motivated you enough to book a room at the one of these amazing properties, we hear from Hotel Chatter that the long-awaited STK restaurant will finally be open at the Gansevoort for Art Basel. Although you wouldn’t get anything of the posh amenities like party invites and car rides, Turon Travel and Expedia also have great promotions going on for Art Basel.
