Lorenzo Quinn Solo Exhibition, London
by Alison Agudo
Internationally acclaimed sculptor, Lorenzo Quinn, will be showcasing his new solo exhibition, entitled Equilibrium, at Halcyon Gallery, on Bruton Street, in London on November 18.
The exhibition will run through January 31, 2010 and will be one of Quinn’s most monumental, impassioned, and emotive showcases to date. Equilibrium is the celebrated exhibition of one of the worlds most influential and avant-garde sculptors, and it involves a new body of sculptured work alongside some of Quinn’s most powerful pieces previously unseen.
One of Quinn’s most infamous works, Give and Take III, will spend six months on public display in Berkley Square through May 2010. To honor the sculptor and his exhibition, the Gallery will host a “Meet the Artist” day on November 21 which will feature Quinn discussing the inspiration behind his new work, poetry, and vision.
For his Equilibrium exhibition, Quinn created an astounding 30 new pieces including What Came First?, Love, and Home Sweet Home which will be showcases alongside some of his most popular works such as Adam and Eve, Force of Nature, and the Hand of God. Quinn comments, “My inspiration comes from the everyday life, books or poems that I read, from my encounters with people and from my own experiences; sculpture is a part of who I am.”
