Manhattan’s Felissimo Design House is hosting Japan Brand NYC for the second time this year. The retail, wholesale, museum, and marketing opportunity brings in toys, knickknacks, furnishings and other goodies from Japanese designers and manufacturers for a one-month showcase starting today, November 23rd.
Japan Brand features products from 27 regions of Japan, most of which are unavailable in the U.S. with items such as kitchen gadgets, glassware, apparel, home decor, and more. There’s always something for anyone and everyone.
In the spring, there were electronic candles you “lit” with fake matchsticks and could blow out, as well as space heaters that looked more like high-design sculptural pieces.
In addition to the rotating roster of exhibited products, there is a calendar of events, from late night shopping to classes on Japanese floral arrangement, sake tastings, cooking and gift wrapping. On December 12, Chef Akiko Thurnauer will show off his knife skills. New this year is The Wish List, an interactive “Wish Wall” at the store, where visitors can leave their wishes.
The event, located at 10 West 56th St, runs from November 23rd through December 24th. For more information, visit JapanBrandNYC’s site.
