Haute Gift Guide: 1959 Aston Martin DBR1 Cuff Links
What sophisticated man doesn’t want beautiful new limited edition cuff links for the holidays? Luckily for you, TMB Art Metal have launched a limited edition set of cuff links handmade from metal taken from the Aston Martin DBR1 race car which I’m pretty sure will get you plenty of “original idea” points this holiday season.
United Kingdom-based TMB Art Metal has just released a limited edition set of cuff links that are hand crafted from metal which was taken from the Aston Martin DBR1. The DBR1 is the renowned race car that won Le Mans and the World Sportscar Championships in 1959, and now the special man in your life can carry a piece of that victory with him while he heads to work.
The exclusive Aston Martin DBR1/2 Essence of Form links are constructed using original pieces of aluminum body panel which was removed from the infamous winning car driven by Carroll Shelby followed by its victorious 1959 driver, Sir Stirling Moss. The cufflinks are classic, beautiful to look at, and come with a history; a winning combination that speaks volumes about their appeal.
There are two versions of the limited edition cuff links, with arms and mini drivers made of solid 18 carat gold. Each pair comes with a certificate of authenticity signed personally be either Shelby or Moss. But don’t wait too long to get your hands on these, there are only 50 pairs world wide of each version.
The cufflinks are priced at approximately $3,000 for a pair. The winning Aston Martin which lends it’s name and precious metal to the cufflinks is one of the most famous cars in the world to this day, and it is thought that the car is worth approximately $25 million.
