Empire Hotel Celebrates Chuck Bass
by Jillian Lobato

The 3rd season of Gossip Girl has been quite a hit with GG followers, and if you’ve paid close attention, you would have noticed that New York’s Empire Hotel has become of the lead characters this season. After it was bought by bad boy Chuck Bass, the hotel has made various appearances on TV and has encompassed lots, and lots of TV drama.

Since it’s making appearances on TV, the real life property believes it should embrace the connection by debuting “Gossip Girl cocktails.”

Created by the Empire’s cocktail consultant Somer Perez, there are going to be drinks for each Gossip Girl character. You can find them being served in the hotel’s Lobby Bar, each costing $15. There’s even an “XOXO” cocktail, with secret ingredients they’ll never tell (Inside joke for Gossip Girl fans). Here’s a list of their Gossip-worthy drinks:

Jenny’s Tartlet
Light and playful like a sweet tart candy, but not to be deceived–the cocktail packs a lot of punch between the rum and the grapefruit, the essential ingredients for the new Queen Bee.
Recipe:
1 ½ oz. Montecristo White Rum
2 oz. Grapefruit Juice
½ oz. Lemon Juice
½ oz. Simple Syrup
2 Sprigs Mint
Lollipop
In a mixing glass, muddle the mint with the lemon juice and simple syrup. Add all other ingredients and shake. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a lollipop.

“S” (Serena)
Zyr Vodka, Honey Water, Champagne and Lemon Pappabubbles.
“Sweet and pouty with tangy honeyed bubbles, an irresistible treat”

“B” (Blair)
Bluecoat Gin, Blood Orange Bitters and Crystal Candy
“Outwardly fabulous, inwardly deceiving. Not for the faint-hearted.
Her bittersweet venom is addictive but always leaves a sting”

“I’m Chuck Bass
Dewar’s Scotch, Red Apple, Ginger Bites and Apple Cider
“Starts out sour, turns sweet… Ends with a kick. You’ll find it surprisingly captivating”

Lonely Boy (Dan)
Brooklyn Lager, Makers Mark Bourbon and Crème de Cacao
“Bold and pure, complicated yet simple. From Brooklyn beginnings his star is on the rise”

Georgina’s Mind Eraser
Vieux Carré Absinthe Wash, Don Julio Silver Tequila, Pomegranate and an Atomic Fireball
“Dangerously delicious and surprisingly strong, this one leaves a mark”

Nate’s Fickle Flings
Sagatiba Cachaça, St-Germain and Sour Blackberries
“Fresh, sweet and tart – redheads, blondes and brunettes fill his little black book”

Eau de Vanessa
Grey Goose Le Poire, Pear Nectar and White Grape Juice
“Light and natural, something about her keeps you coming back for more…”

Drink up!
