Dress Your Tot in Stella!
by Erika Thomas

Following in her typical gig as guest designer, Stella McCartney’s latest cameo hit stores this week—this time as a children’s line for mega-retail chain GAP.

Built around basics like jeans, tunics, and hats, it’s also got a healthy heap of statement pieces for your toddler fashionista. I love the tiered petal-pink tulle tutu so much; it actually made me want a daughter for a split second. Back to reality, the clothes are really photoshoot-worthy. A sweater dress with a leopard emblazoned on the front is perfect for your eight-year old diva, while sleek blazers lend themselves as alternatives to your child’s SpongeBob zip-up.  Really stealing the show is a band-style jacket, shown in the campaign as made for boys, but totally passes as unisex for a budding fashion maven. And the jeans? They’re all cut skinny! Too adorable.

Really, what better person to create a whimsical children’s line than Miss McCartney? Having her own kids, combined with her flowy and free spirited adult line, who else to channel that carefree attitude onto the most carefree of all – children.
