Calendar Listing New York: Artwalk NY
by Alison Agudo

Last night New Yorkers enjoyed the Artwalk NY evening which benefitted the Coalition for the Homeless to commemorate its 15 years as one of the most substantial fundraisers of the season. The evening honored artist Pat Steir and included live and silent auctions, cocktails, and tastings.

WHO: Co-chairs Alec Baldwin, Richard Gere, and Carey Lowell and Skylight Studios in New York City.

WHAT:
Artwalk NY fundraiser celebrating artist Pat Steir and honoring her contribution to the contemporary art community. The evening included a silent auction at 6:30pm and a live auction  at 8:00pm followed by a cocktail party that featured tastings from New York City’s finest restaurants including Michael’s, Da Silvano, and Indochine. Live auction items included luminaries such as Jeff Koons, Jenny Holzer, Ed Ruscha, and the evening’s honoree, Pat Steir.

The evening benefited the Coalition for the Homeless, an organization that provides housing, food, job training, crisis services, and children’s programs to 3,500 New Yorkers every day. The organization has been successfully fighting for lasting solutions to homelessness since its founding in 1981 through renowned advocacy. The number of families who are homeless in New York City has recently hit a new record with more than 39,000 people, including 16,000 children, who are sleeping in emergency shelters. All funds from Artwalk NY directly benefitted the Coalitions life-saving programs for the less fortunate of New York City.
