Wynwood Central Gallery Opening, Miami
by Alison Agudo
On the evening of October 29, 2009, the Wynwood Art District of Miami will be welcoming a new and high anticipated art gallery, appropriately named the Wynwood Central Gallery.
Gallery owner Gilles Dandrieux and director Shana Beth Mason will welcome guests on their grand opening night, which will feature a solo exhibition by emerging Belgian artist Kito Mbiango.
Self-taught Mbiango’s art is inspired by his “wide-ranging travels and photographic experience in producing works that excite the imagination by crossing and blurring cultural borders between Eastern and Western spheres of influence.” His exhibition’s underlying motive, however, is to unify both artistic and human ingredients by gathering his art and its viewer into one stunning, deeply spiritual achievement.
The new Wynwood Central Gallery is located in the east central part of the city of Miami. The Wynwood Art District is also commonly known as “Uptown Miami” and the ‘Edgewater District.”
