Victoria Secret at the Gansevoort South
Instead of the Fontainebleau, Victoria’s Secret chose the Gansevoort South Hotel in Miami Beach to hold a national model search on Saturday, October 10. Last year the Fontainebleau rushed their big opening so that their big fashion could be televised on CBS on time. Unfortunately, the holiday infused lingerie runway show will not be coming back to Miami this year.
Hundreds of hopefuls lined up as Victoria’s Secret looked to find the next Runway Angel to walk in this year’s fashion show alongside supermodels Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Marisa Miller, and many other seasoned Angels. The criteria the models had to meet are to be at last 5’8” tall, willing to travel, and be between 18 and 30 years old. After a four city search, ten finalists will be flown to New York City to an “Angel Boot Camp” hosted by the Victoria Secret Angels.
Through a series of challenges, they will have to prove to the world that they have what it takes to be a Runway Angel. The contestants will show their photogenic qualities, prove their abilities as a spokes model, show off their red carpet star quality, and show their charisma while walking a runway in lingerie. The public will then decided the final winner, through an online voting process and a series of reality-TV webisodes, who will strut their stuff on December 1 on CBS Network Television.
Apparently, the news got leaked because the Gansevoort was booked on Saturday and Sunday, most likely by modelizers and gawkers waiting to catch a glimpse of our next angel.
