STK Opening in Gansevoort South Hotel, Miami
by Alison Agudo
The ONE Group is launching STK, its sexy, signature brand in the Gansevoort South Hotel in South Beach and, like most things associated with Miami, it’s expected to be muy caliente.
A recent press release has it set to open this fall, and the trendy steakhouse is already creating a buzz with its highly anticipated debut including eye catching designs and unbeatable cuisine.
All design credit goes to the award-winning design firm ICRAVE who have created a remarkable 2-story capacious space that boasts a large DJ lounge, bistro dining area and second level bar. A catwalk runs across the back bar allowing guests to be dramatically highlighted as they ascend and make their entrance to the mezzanine level. Upstairs guests will find a second dining room, bar and private dining areas that overlook the main floor below, allowing guests to decide whether to survey, or be surveyed.
While Miami hot spots are often all about design and the “who’s-who” in the crowd, we must not forget that this is a restaurant with an incredible chef dishing out the goods. This stylish diversion from your typical steakhouse is spearheaded by executive chef Todd Mark Miller, who promises this is not “your daddy’s steakhouse,” and spares no expense when it comes to bringing premium cuts of meat to the table. While the menu will offer a delectable array of steaks, salads, seafood, and vegetarian items, there will also be Miami inspired dishes that include Seared Big Eye Tuna with roasted pineapple, habanero chili pepper and congri basmati rice as well as Pork Mojo Cazuela with citrus chili maduros and yuca. Of course, guests can also find their favorite New York City or Los Angeles STK dishes such as Shrimp Rice Krispies, Foie Gras French Toast, and Lil’ Big Macs.
