Separated McCourts Purchase Multiple Neighboring Properties
by Alison Agudo

Baseball’s Dodger owners, Frank McCourt and his wife Jamie, the team’s chief executive, are facing a marital separation; however that doesn’t seem to be stopping them from wanting to be nearby one another in some manner or another.

Boston-born Frank McCourt and Baltimore-born Jamie McCourt met at Georgetown University, married in 1979 and have four adult sons. The pair bought the Dodgers in 2004 for approximately $430 million; however, recently the separated couple has reportedly been shopping for an asset of a different kind–real estate.

Since moving to Los Angeles, the McCourts have bought two neighboring properties in Holmby Hills, and another two adjacent homes in Malibu. The first Holmby Hills home is a 20,000-square-foot villa that the two bought in 2004 and at the time was listed for $29 million. Six months later, the McCourts purchased a neighboring 8,385 square feet French country fixer-upper for $6.5 million.

In 2007, the pair bought the John Launter-designed Segel Residence in Malibu from actors Courtney Cox and husband David Arquette for $27,250,272 before purchasing another beachfront bungalow next door for just under $19 million.

While an official divorce of the separated pair has yet to be announced, the two are certainly going to remain in close proximity in one way or another due to their new collection of neighboring homes.
