Montblanc, UNICEF, and Hollywood Team up to Fight Illiteracy

Montblanc and UNICEF have teamed up once again, creating the “Signature for Good” initiative, which raises funds to not only fight global illiteracy but to save children around the world. Different from their past initiatives, the “Signature for Good” campaign is a year-round quest to save children from dying of reasons that can be prevented. Perhaps the most inspiring aspect of the project are the portraits of Hollywood’s leading ladies dressed as literature’s great heroines. The charity ambassador portraits feature Eva Longoria as Scarlett O’Hara, Susan Sarandon as Carmen, Christina Ricci as Juliet, and Sienna Miller as Tolstoy’s Natasha, among others, and are part of the traveling exhibition that has gone on a worldwide tour with stops in Hong Kong, London, and New York.

The grand finale event takes place in Los Angeles on September 17, and will include an auction and gala dinner of the individually signed portraits. All proceeds will go directly to UNICEF to benefit this global cause.

Lutz Bethge, CEO of Montblanc International and Caryl Stern, CEO of UNICEF are deeply committed to the “Signature for Good” initiative as the written word is the inspiration and anchor of the Montblanc brand, and the ability to read and write enables one to play a contributing role in today’s society. Read more about how Lutz Bethge is guiding Montblanc’s commitment to charity in Haute Living’s one-on-one interview.
