The World is Not Enough

Haute Living’s overwhelming love for all things Dubai is well documented. We are enamored with the city-state’s desire to be the biggest, the best, the hautest locale in the world. Dubai is full of larger-than-life everything. Heck, it seems that even THE WORLD is not enough for that strip of sand. So, like is custom in Dubai, they are building something even bigger–namely, the Universe. While we had an inkling about the Universe when we profiled Nakheel CEO Chris O’Donnell in our September/October edition, the mega-development company revealed its full plans for the entire archipelago of Universe islands during the $20 million Atlantis opening bash which took place in November.

The Universe will consist of sun, moon, and stars, situated just off shore from the recently completed World. It will consist of some 7,500 acres, and is expected to take from 15 to 20 years to complete.
