The Montage Hotel Beverly Hills is the first new luxury hotel to be built in Beverly Hills in more than 16 years. The eight-story hotel makes no effort to be avant-garde in its design, but instead reverts to traditional Southern California Spanish Colonial Revival style complete with terra cotta roofs and a garden. The hotel presents traditional Hollywood glamour paired with modern indulgences and the luxury of privacy.

Accommodations consist of 201 rooms and suites, ranging from 500 to 5,000 square feet. Rooms have balconies with views of the city and the foothills. Niceties such as custom-designed suit hangers, pomegranate scented bath products, a private underground entrance to the hotel, and for guests who reserve one of the Corner Suites or above, a complimentary Mercedes for use during their stay. Prices start at $595 per night, and go up to $7500 for the Presidential Suite. Prices are significantly higher than competitors, but the hotel offers elegant fine dining and a spa in addition to luxury accommodations.

The 20,000-square-foot Spa Montage has a two-story mosaic wall as the focal point for the mineral pool and relaxation area, and offers individualized treatments and a full-service salon. The hotel’s three restaurants, all under the direction of John Cuevas, serve artisan California cuisine. At Parq, breakfast lunch and dinner are served in a casually elegant environment with views of the hotel’s topiary gardens, or at the 12-person chef’s table in the European kitchen. The more intimate Muse highlights seafood and prime meats, and has a private dining room for 20 with a balcony looking over the gardens. A more casual option is the Conservatory Grill, which offers great views of the hills and all-organic breakfast and lunch fare. The lobby lounge also serves traditional afternoon tea, a final traditional and glamorous touch.
