Hauteblog Update: Natalie Portman’s Pockets $6.55 Million More Flush
by HauteLiving

As an update to an update: over at cityfile.com’s dailyfile, they report that the $6.55 million sale of Natalie Portman’s 3-bed condo at 165 Charles Street (the property designed by starchitect, and Larry David lookalike, Richard Meier) has closed, two months after we first blogged about the property heading into contract. Last month, Portman revealed that she had moved back home with her parents after leaving the West Village pad because she simply hadn’t found a place yet. She was quoted as saying: “I’m homeless at the moment so I am residing with my parents. It’s rough. It was cool in the beginning because I get good meals and my laundry done but it turns into trouble.” A possible reason for not finding a place is that she’s a little busy in the city. She’s been filming “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits” around town since October. The movie, due out next year, stars Natalie Portman as a young lawyer who struggles to forge a relationship with her five-year-old stepson. It was also revealed lately that the incomparably beautiful actress turned down the chance to play a nun opposite movie great Meryl Streep in “Doubt” because she can’t get her head around celibacy-at one point very interested in the movie adaptation of John Patrick Shanley’s hit play but she turned the part down because she couldn’t see herself as a lifelong virgin. The playwright, who also directed the movie told GossipSauce.com: “Natalie was very interested but kept saying she had a problem. And we finally nailed down as to what the problem was: She basically said she didn’t understand celibacy.”
