Hilfiger Flipping Big Apple Abode

Fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger has listed his Plaza apartment for $50 million, in the still surreal, high-end Manhattan market. The high-end crib with the phhhhhhat asking price is located in the northeast dome (THE “Dome”, one of the most recognizable features of the entire structure) on the 18th and 19th floors of the famed building; the eight-room duplex features knock-your-socks-off Central Park views and ceiling heights up to 20 feet. There’s also a north-facing private terrace (one of only two terraces in the building) off the master bedroom where you can scream, “I’m king of the world!” and few will argue. Of course, few will hear you. So maybe you’ll be shouting, “Whattup pigeons, I rule.” Anyway, the approximately 6,000-square-foot residence, which includes four bedrooms, 4 and a half baths, a formal dining room, large living room, library, and gourmet kitchen, was originally two separate units that have recently been combined by a staircase. But it’s still considered raw space with just the essential walls and utilities, according to his broker Deborah Grubman of the Corcoran Group. She claims that it’s basically at a point where anyone can do their own finishes (read: fixer-upper), and that it has incredibly interesting architectural features, and exposures, that make it unlike any other apartment (further read: he didn’t really do anything to it). Hello, Moscow? Meanwhile, tycoon Tommy Boy also has another property he wants to sell. He’s recently lowered the price of his 20,000-square-foot mansion in leafy Greenwich, Connecticut to $24.9 million after first listing it last February for $27.9 million.
