A former convent in the Hamptons will soon hit the market for a divine price tag of $100 million. Villa Maria was once home to the Sisters of the Order of St. Dominic, who purchased the 21,000-square-foot white stucco Beaux Art mansion in 1929 for a reported $250,000. Located in Water Mill, the 14.6-acre estate overlooks Mecox Bay and features 12 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a ballroom, institutional kitchen, three guest cottages, and 1,200 feet of shoreline.

The property functioned as a high school for aspiring sisters until 1953 when it became a home for retired nuns. In 1992, the estate’s name was changed to the Siena Spirituality Center at Villa Maria and began offering educational, spiritual, and holistic living programs. In the summer of 2005, shoe company Nine West Co-Founder Vincent Camuto and his wife Louise of Greenwich, CT purchased Villa Maria from the sisters for $35 million. With a reported asking price of nearly three times that amount,
Villa Maria is guaranteed to be a holy homestead for its next occupants.
