Evora Heralds New Era for Lotus
by HauteLiving

Group Lotus debuted its first new entrant in 13 years with the release of the Evora, a visually stunning and dynamically exhilarating sports car that is the world’s only mid-engine 2+2. Powered by a Lotus-tuned 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 280 PS and weighing just 1350 kg, Lotus plans to sell just 2,000 Evoras per year, a small portion of the total Versatile Vehicle Architecture-based vehicles the small British manufacturer says it can produce.
During preliminary testing around the famous Nurburgring, Lotus chassis engineers reported that the Evora is extremely agile and great fun to drive. With innovative technology and high levels of luxury, packaging, and convenience, the Evora is the biggest milestone that Lotus has achieved since the Elise and is part of Lotus’ bold five-year strategic plan that includes the introduction of new cars and technologies to many more markets around the world.
