The successful Bridgehampton in Miami event benefited the Diabetes Research Institute.

Hosted by Sean Yazbeck, winner of Donald Trump’s The Apprentice, and presented by Veuve Clicquot, Bridgehampton in Miami was definitely the hottest place to see and be seen on April 5. More than 600 of South Florida’s finest descended upon 6801 Granada Blvd., Coral Gables’ famous waterfront estate that was designed by renowned mid-century modern architect Alfred Browning Parker. The historic Florida home encompasses three acres of lush tropical landscaping with direct access to Biscayne Bay, creating a private gated enclave. Combining an afternoon social with a New York-style “sample sale,” the event successfully raised funds for the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami.

“I spent many Labor Day weekends in the Hamptons where this type of social bazaar is popular,” says event creator and team builder Pauldine France, who chose to benefit diabetes research because her grandmother is one of many that suffers from the disease. “My vision was to bring this unique concept, along with its sophistication and verve, to Miami for the first time. And it worked, thanks to all the wonderful people who helped!”

Guests sipped Veuve Clicquot during their quarter-mile stroll along the scenic pathways surrounding the sprawling home. Mayi de la Vega from Stewart de la Vega Group, a boutique real estate firm in Coral Gables that specializes in luxury properties, arranged for the event to be held on the grounds of the beautiful property. DJ Induce spun a variety of global beats and jazz music from a balcony overlooking the garden, where six specialty bars served cocktails made with 10 Cane Rum and Chopin Vodka as well as Chandon wines, Hennessey, and more. Five stations offering hors d’oeuvres and desserts from Tastebuds Catering drew crowds, as shoppers mingled and drifted among boutiques offering deep discounts on everything from baby clothing to bikinis to diamond bezel watches. A men’s lounge featured Formula 1 Sport Cars, Ducati motorcycles, and BRB Yachts. Inside, Fendi Casa converted the living and family rooms into a luxury lounge, while Maya Cisneros’ boutique occupied its own area of the house and various artists showcased their work throughout the interior.

Other participating vendors and sponsors included: Romero Britto, Haute Living Magazine, Trish McEvoy, Armaan Watches, Cream, Louis Morales, Lissy’s Orchids, Veronique Fine Linens, La Flor Dominicana, Studio LX, Project LX, Rollin Stix, Tabraue Jewelry Gallery, Patricia Costa Jewelry, Cecila Comeau Jewelry, Treasures Jewelry, Shelly B.
