Cashmere Calling

Donna Karan understands that traveling can be an arduous task. She understands that long flights, late nights, and fluctuating time zones can agitate even the most seasoned traveler-even if he or she is globetrotting in a plush Gulfstream G650. She understands that restless nights generate unproductive days, a hapless reality even for her, a successful designer who has juggled a schedule bloated with deadlines and business travel for years. And that’s why Donna Karan understands that when you actually have a moment to rest, not only must you seize it, you must savor it.

Donna Karan, founder of Donna Karan New York and the notable “Seven Easy Pieces” equation, has partnered with the esteemed Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, renowned for their collection of exotic, five-star luxury hotels around the world, to bring you her latest essentials-a cashmere eye mask and matching black slippers. Holding the promise of dissolving those needless travel woes, the eye mask and slippers will be a complimentary treat for those staying in the top suites at the Mandarin New York and the Mandarin London, two of the hotel’s most prominent locations.

Upon arrival to suites at the Mandarin, guests will be welcomed with a sumptuously furnished retreat, ranging from 484 square feet to an ample 1,517 square feet depending on the suite, where they will find Karan’s cashmere mask waiting for them. Guests are then invited to the Donna Karan New York Collection store, where they will choose matching slippers in their size. While in the store, hotel guests can peruse Karan’s latest fashions, including her women’s spring ‘08 collection-a sultry array of discreet, modern collectibles, including classic halter shirts, body suits, and long, billowing skirts. Luckily, for those who are too consumed with work to whisk off to the Mandarin New York or London for the exclusive set, the fabulous designer is making her slippers available in Donna Karan New York Stores by the fall of 2008-just in time for the debut of her fall collection. The eye mask will remain exclusive to the Mandarin.

Donna Karan’s ingenuity will further enable Mandarin guests to savor those serene, business-free moments, without the unwelcomed listlessness that accompanies lack of rest. With the aid of her cashmere essentials, guests will easily enjoy that brisk walk in London’s leafy Hyde Park or a theatrical evening on (or off) New York’s Broadway. And when Mandarin guests return to their luxurious suites after a tedious day of work or a day about town, Karan’s beautiful black cashmere set will be waiting for them, offering a gentle respite.
