Nicolas Cage sells Newport Beach home for $35 million
by HauteLiving

What is it with Newport Beach these days?
OK, OK, we’re kidding. But after checking out the Portabello Estate ($75 million!) in the previous Haute Blog entry, we knew it would be hard to find a good follow-up act. So we hope that the news that Nicolas Cage (shown above in the irresistibly cheesy “Con Air” film) has sold his Newport Beach home for $35 million won’t fall flat for our loyal Haute Blog readers.
The print edition of the Wall Street Journal broke the story, saying that the home, at 2692 Bayshore Drive (in the Bayshores community), is a record sale for Orange County, after being listed at $35 million.
According to Celebrity Real Estate Homes Blog Big Time Listings, the one-story home features “a stone loggia with retractable glass doors, a view of the harbor’s main turning basin, a dock that can accommodate boats of more than 150 feet, and a pool and a spa, according to listing information in the Journal.”
In all, the home, with 4,401 square feet and a .58-acre lot, will end up making someone very happy – and the WSJ is reporting that person is the owner of Las Vegas-based gas station/retailer Terrible Herbst.
