Expert Florida developer, Franck McKinney, knows how to keep up with trends after 20 years of building multi-million-dollar mansions. Now, McKinney is investing $29 million in a luxury environmentally friendly estate.
Speculated to be the first house of its caliber to be certified green by the US Green Building Council and the Florida Green Building Council, this 15,000 square foot mansion in Manalapan, FL boasts a many green and energy-saving amenities.
Starting from the $120,000 solar panel for energy, to a “gray water” system that will irrigate the lawn, pools, ponds and gardens to cool down the property by 2 to 3 degrees. To a state-of-the-art air purification system, as well as eco-friendly light fixtures that will reduce energy consumption by 90 percent.
Furthermore, interior finishes of the house had McKinney explore alternative “green”, materials such as teak instead of a rare Brazilian cherry for the hardwood floors.
