Enchant the eye, rejoice the heart and elevate the spirit

You have a discriminating eye for all things art: You already have the state-of-the-art apartment and the priceless masterpieces adorning your walls. The next step in perfecting your cultivated manor is to fill it with unique pieces that function as both furniture and art. The ideal way to do this is with the unique stylings available at furniture showroom of Sebastian + Barquet.

With a plethora of twentieth century designers out there, Sebastian + Barquet keep open minds when choosing who to showcase, but hold a keen eye for designers who represent a standard that sets them apart from much that pervades today’s furniture. Established in New York in 2005, Sebastian + Barquet offers an astonishing array of pieces in mint condition and sound provenance; the immense collection contains masterpieces ranging from fin-de-siecle to present day and designs inspired from east to west.

Sebastian + Barquet is planning on opening a furniture gallery in January, which will play host to eight exhibitions a year, showcasing works by designers who have left an indelible mark on the design landscape. Their aim is to provide their discerning clientele with the highest quality and most unique pieces of vintage furniture from the last century. Enrique Norten, who has been awarded the “Leonardo Da Vinci” World Award of Arts by the World Cultural Council, designed the Chelsea showroom and gallery. This allows iconoclastic pieces from Mark Newson, George Nakashima, Carlo Mollino, Gio Ponti, Carlo Bugatti, Vladimir Kagan and others to be displayed in an equally astonishing environment.

For those who don’t have time to stop by the luxe showroom, Sebastian + Barquet will soon be publishing their own furniture catalog that will include biographies and histories of the various pieces and their creators. Inspired by the current selection of design, the company will also be developing its own range and line of furniture, which will include unique pieces designed by architects, artists and designers such as Enrique Norten and Jorge Pardo.

Designer Jean Royére perfectly translates the goal of Sebastian + Barquet: “To create a harmonious spectacle to enchant the eye, rejoice the heart and elevate the spirit.”
